Description: MAMP is a software package that creates a local server environment on your computer. This allows you to develop and test websites locally, without needing to upload them to a live server. The acronym MAMP stands for Mac (although it also works on Windows), Apache (the web server), MySQL (the database), and PHP (the programming language), though other programming languages like Perl and Python can be used as well. MAMP bundles these technologies together, making it easy to set up a local web server for testing websites built with languages like PHP and for content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress and Drupal. There's a free version and a commercial version called MAMP PRO.
