One comment states 'Important to know: these mixers *used to be* manufactured by Hobart, who makes commercial baking and other equipment. In 1985 KitchenAid was sold to Whirlpool and Hobart sopped making the guts. I would argue that the older the models are much more BIFL than what you get today and in the 2000’s.' Implying that Hobart is no longer associated with good quality.
