Initially, Solovair soles were used in the creation of the iconic Dr. Martens boots in a collaboration between NPS and R. Griggs Group Ltd. in 1960. After Dr. Martens moved its production overseas in 1995, Solovair established itself as an independent brand, continuing to produce its own line of boots and shoes. They utilize the same lasts, leather cutters, and machinery used for the original Dr. Martens soles.
