Brand Details

Type: Brand

Description: Pyrex is a brand name initially introduced by Corning Inc. in 1915 for clear, low-thermal-expansion borosilicate glass used for laboratory glassware and kitchenware. The product line later expanded to include kitchenware made from other materials like soda-lime glass. The brand is famous for its rectangular glass roasters. In 1998, Corning Inc. spun off its kitchenware division (including Pyrex) as Corning Consumer Products Company, later renamed Corelle Brands. Corning Inc. now focuses solely on industrial products, not consumer products. Therefore, the Pyrex brand is now owned and operated by different companies depending on the product line. The Pyrex brand for laboratory glassware and related products is still associated with Corning Incorporated, while the Pyrex brand for kitchenware is associated with Corelle Brands. There is no single universal Pyrex website.
