Description: Entity Framework (EF) is an object-relational mapper (ORM) that simplifies database interaction for .NET developers. It allows developers to work with relational data using domain-specific objects, significantly reducing the amount of data-access code needed. Instead of writing SQL queries directly, developers interact with database tables through C# objects and properties. EF handles the translation between the object model and the database. It supports various databases including SQL Server (on-premises and Azure), SQLite, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Azure Cosmos DB. Key features include LINQ query support, change tracking, updates, and schema migrations. There are two main versions: EF Core (the newer, open-source version) and EF6 (an older, still-supported version). Choosing between them depends on project needs and compatibility requirements.

Noob question: every backend framework and baas seems to have its own ORM. So where does the opportunity to write sql arises? is raw sql written only for complex queries that can not be done through an ORM? What if I want to put business logic in my sql queries.

It is mentioned as a good alternative to SQL, but it is not as expressive as plain SQL.
