Description: Woolrich is an American luxury outdoor clothing company, established in 1830 in Woolrich, Pennsylvania. Originally founded as a woolen mill to supply fabric for the wives of hunters, loggers, and trappers, it has evolved into a brand known for high-quality outdoor apparel. They are recognized for iconic products such as the Buffalo Check pattern (introduced in 1850) and the Arctic parka. The company has a long history of supplying the US military with its products, dating back to the Civil War. In recent years, Woolrich has expanded its offerings and collaborations, including launching a premium Black Label collection with creative director Todd Snyder.

Woolrich, the oldest arctic parka I have is fifteen years old and has shed its first down feather this winter. My husband has a newer one that’s seven or eight years old and slightly better made, and it looks like new.
