Description: GeoCities was a free web hosting service founded in 1994 by David Bohnett and John Rezner. It was incredibly popular in the 1990s, known for hosting a vast number of personal websites, fan sites, and online communities. Users could create and publish their own web pages, and the site's URL structure incorporated "neighborhoods" (like "Hollywood" or "SiliconValley") to categorize and organize websites by theme. GeoCities was acquired by Yahoo! in 1999 and ultimately shut down in October 2009. While the original GeoCities domain no longer functions as a web hosting service, various archive projects and mirror sites have attempted to preserve its content. However, access to these archives varies, and the completeness of the preserved data is uncertain. There is no single, official URL for GeoCities today.
