Description: Xamarin was a cross-platform mobile app development framework that allowed developers to build native apps for iOS, Android, and Windows using a single codebase and primarily C# and the .NET ecosystem. This significantly reduced development time and effort by allowing code reuse across platforms. While Xamarin allowed for near-native performance, it also offered options like Xamarin.Forms for creating a shared user interface (UI) that was rendered natively on each platform. Xamarin's support has since ended by Microsoft. As of February 1st, 2025, Microsoft recommends using .NET MAUI (Multi-platform App UI) as its successor for cross-platform development. There is no longer a dedicated Xamarin website.
