Brand Details
Type: Brand
Description: In the context of the Ontario Mandatory Vehicle Branding Program, a vehicle branded "None" means that one of the following is true: The vehicle is new and has not yet been branded. The vehicle was damaged or rebuilt before March 31, 2003, before the program's implementation. The vehicle was damaged but not to a degree that meets the program's criteria for branding (e.g., it wasn't deemed a total loss). The vehicle was never involved in a collision. Crucially, a "None" brand does *not* indicate that the vehicle has never been damaged. The program only brands vehicles that meet specific damage criteria. Therefore, a "None" brand simply means no brand other than "None," "Salvage," "Rebuilt," or "Irreparable" has been officially applied.
